Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frosting

I posted this picture on Instagram on Valentine’s Day and have had people swooning and begging for the recipe!  I stumbled upon it on Pinterest of course by Sally’sBakingAddiction Warning: this is NOT healthy and is NOT gluten free {although you could make it gluten free}!  It can most definitely be used just to eat.  So, if you’re like me and don’t care too much for cake, go ahead and make this frosting and eat it alone!  It can also be made into a dip for a dessert bar.  It literally tastes like chocolate chip cookie dough! Ok, on to the goodness!

What you’ll need

  • 1/2 C. Unsalted Butter
  • 3/4 C. Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/4 C. Flour {substitute with Almond Flour or another gluten free flour of choice}
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 4 Tbsp. Milk {or almond milk} – This can be adjusted depending on the consistency you want.  I used 3 to make it thicker.  Use more to make a dip.
  • 1 C. Mini Chocolate Chips

Cream the butter and sugar.  Then add the vanilla and mix well.  Next add the flour and salt.  Once that is mixed well, add the milk until it is the consistency you want.  Finally fold in the chocolate chips.  Frost cupcakes or eat it just the way it is!
